Duma exempts subsidies to small, medium firms from tax

MOSCOW, Apr 17 (PRIME) -- The State Duma, the Russian parliament’s lower house, on Friday approved the second and third readings of a bill that will exempt incomes of small and medium firms received in the form of the federal budget subsidies amid the spread of coronavirus from the profit tax.

The incentive will be provided to tax payers included in the unified register of small and medium-sized businesses as of March 1 and operating in economic sectors that suffered the most as a result of the spread of coronavirus.

The State Duma also approved the second and third readings of a bill under which compensation payments to medical staff for work with people with coronavirus will be exempted from the personal income tax.
